A tribute to the independence of Brazil!
Situated at 710 m height on the Concovado Mountain, the 38 m high statue of Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) watches over the city of Rio de Janeiro and it is its most important attraction. Built in Art Deco style, the statue also bears the stamp of a Romanian, sculptor Gheorghe Leonida, who made Jesus’ head.
