A lie has short legs and a lying bridge has none.
It is the oldest functional cast iron bridge in Romania, and the legend says that it has the power to hear the lying thoughts of those crossing it.
However, in the Transylvanian Saxon dialect, “lying” (lugenmarchen) is a homonym of the word “lie”, hence the name of the Bridge of Lies.
